Soft berries are grown counter-season almost everywhere they are grown for export. Mexico ships through the Northern Hemisphere winter out of Jalisco and Michoacán; Morocco does the same into Europe from Souss-Massa. Both exist because the markets they serve have no local fruit in those months.

Very little of it moves by sea. Raspberries have a shelf life measured in days, so the volume goes by air or by truck, and the sea programme is a small and technically demanding subset. Treat the windows below as the crop calendar, and check the routing separately.

Mexico

November–April peak · May, October shoulder Load ports: Manzanillo, Lázaro Cárdenas, and Veracruz

Roughly November to April out of Jalisco and Michoacán, counter-season to Northern Hemisphere production. Blackberries and strawberries run on much the same calendar.

Almost none of this moves by sea. Soft berries have a shelf life measured in days, so the volume goes by air or by truck into the United States; a sea programme exists but is small and demands everything go right.

Morocco

March–May, October–November peak · February, June, September, December shoulder Load ports: Agadir, Casablanca, and Tanger Med

Two windows either side of the summer, roughly October to December and February to June, out of the same northern growing regions as the blueberries.

Soft berries have a shelf life measured in days, which is exactly why Morocco can sell them into Europe and Latin America mostly cannot. This is a truck trade, and the window is the crop calendar rather than a shipping schedule.
