A CargoProduce alternative for produce importers

CargoProduce sells visibility alongside money — financing, multicurrency accounts, invoice payment. We sell only the cargo half, deeper. Which you want depends on whether your bottleneck is liquidity or paperwork.

A trade-services bundle, not a visibility tool

Read their product list and the shape is clear: supply chain orchestration and shipment tracking across every mode, document management and workflow automation, invoice financing for exporters, multicurrency accounts with FX, and audit and payment of vendor invoices. Tracking is a component of a trade-services offer aimed at Latin American exporters and importers, with named customers in fruit among them.

That is a coherent business and a genuinely different one from ours. We do not touch money in any form. What we do instead is go a layer deeper on the cargo: the grower's packing list read line by line and reconciled against its own declared totals, the phytosanitary certificate kept with the container, the arrival inspection scored per pallet. A bundle has to be broad; this is what narrow buys.

Breadth of service against depth on the cargo

The job CargoProduce Trackberry

When CargoProduce is the better answer

Any of these and the comparison is not close.

  • You need working capital against your invoices. That is their business and not ours.
  • You want multicurrency accounts, FX or vendor payment handled in the same place.
  • You are an exporter in Latin America rather than an importer into Europe.
  • You want one supplier for trade services rather than a specialist for one part of it.
  • Your paperwork is already clean and the bottleneck is cash rather than data entry.

What it costs

One of these has a price you can read.

CargoProduce

Not published

The site refers to "competitive rates" without publishing figures. Note that part of the offer is financing, where the real cost is a rate on money rather than a software fee.

Trackberry

Free in beta, then €10 / container

No card and no commitment while we are in beta. €10 per container once the beta ends — you pay for containers that ship, not for seats or a monthly subscription. ERP integration is a one-off from €2,000 plus maintenance from €50 a month, quoted against the system you already run. All prices exclude VAT.

Questions buyers ask

What does CargoProduce actually sell?
A bundle. Its headline is "One stop shop para importadores & exportadores", and underneath it are shipment tracking across modes, document management, invoice financing for exporters, multicurrency accounts, and vendor invoice audit and payment. Visibility is one part of a trade-services offer.
Do you do any of the financing?
None of it. No financing, no multicurrency accounts, no payments, no FX. If those are what you are shopping for, this comparison ends here and you should talk to them.
Which region is it for?
Latin America, on its own evidence: the site is offered in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and the customers it names are Latin American growers and exporters. Our lanes are the European import side of that same trade.
Does it read packing lists?
Its site describes document management and workflow automation rather than line-level extraction, and does not name packing lists or phytosanitary certificates specifically. Managing a document and reading it are different jobs — worth asking them which you would be buying.

If the bottleneck is the paperwork
